What exactly are you using it for?

I think what your looking for is a switch debouncer.

If your "instant" is in the order of, say, 10 to 20ms, a pair of relays will do the trick very very easily.

I can draw a diagram if you wish.

basikly, its for my electric window which i'm making one touch :smartass: ! when the window hits the bottom (or top) it breaks the switch, but i need it to be open to operate it again, but the window is still holding it...if you get my drift!!

This would be called a passing contact switch, but what you really need is to make a proper negative feedback circuit. It needs to be a seperate system for up and for down, otherwise if you press the switch for down when the window is at the bottom the motor will still try to wind down the window and break something, or blow the fuse or burst into flames. So the down circuit still needs to be isolated as long as the window is at the bottom of travel and vice versa.

otherwise if you press the switch for down when the window is at the bottom the motor will still try to wind down the window and break something,

this is why i want this switch, at the moment it reaches the bottom and wants to keep going ( or at the top fly's off the track! :gasp: ) so this 'passing contact' switch as you say will be in line with one of the window switch to knock it out when it 'parks' i think.
Just need to find somewhere for this switch and suck it and see!!!

Not gonna work like that mate. There's two options, either the assembly will have enough innertia that the window will move past the switch slightly (as you hope), in which case it will be in the situation I described above because everything will be reconnected and even worse when you try to wind the window the other way it will activate the switch again and stop (it won't be doing much speed at this point so it won't have any innertia and it will stop dead on the switch), or it will not have enough innertia in the first place for that to work and it will always stop dead on the switch leaving everything isolated. You need to use normal momentary switches and set up a proper control circuit to keep the window controlled all the way through it's movement. Getting this right is very important, power windows can be dangerous things.

Ok, I don't know what I'm talking about but I'm sure if you rang up your local Maplins and told them what you needed they would be able to sort you out?
