I need a good quality connector plug to separate the wiring for the headlights and indicators for a removeable fibreglass front.

I don't know where to start, any recommendations?

7 wires in and 12 out.

Cheers

Russ

The mate n lock connectors go up to 15 way:

Others I have heard of using towing accessory wiring connectors, the kind of thing you connect up a trailer or caravan with...

EDIT: Don't forget the earths!

Cheers guys,

Just done an Ebay search for Trailer Plugs and they're looking favourite so far.

Those connectors look good David but may be a bit small for my sausage fingers. I should be buying the front end next week!

Nice one Captain Kirk. That space looks ideal for the connector.

What's the score with an earth? What do I need to wire up to what?

my hourly rate isn't too bad , and the connectors aren't big and bulky and can be tucked away for a neat engine bay :P

Right, as I'm replacing the metal wings with a fibreglass one-piece, do I need to earth each indicator and headlight?

I'm now thinking of using a standard 7 pin N-type trailer plug and socket but this won't give me a pin for an earth.
I'm thinking, run a wire from each indicator and headlamp to metal washers that will be tight against the subframe when the front is fitted.

Does this sound right or is it simpler than that?

The wiring will NEED proper earthing. That means tight firm clean connections to the body of the car.

Okay, I'll work something out then.

Thanks again.

you could earth them to the subframe/flipfront bars russ, one earth for each side - you can tell I haven't had a bevvy tonight!

and i would seriously consider small plugs to keep things neat >_<
