Hi I'm new here

I don't have a mini (but my dad has), although I do have a 1275 Midget which has been tuned to 75 FWHP using the Vizard bible :-). I'm mainly hoping to supercharge next, which is why I'm on here!

Well now, what have we here.  2008, jeez.  Anyway, I've joined myself back in, as the mini in the very first post up here, is now mine......

The 1275 Midget with 75bhp is now a 1400 K series Midget with 124 bhp.  A Rover P6 V8 has been added to the roster, as has a 1968 Series 2A. Once the P6 has been finished, then it will be the turn of the Mini.

Looking forward to getting back into Mini-mode (I've secretly wanted one for ages, and ages, and ages)

Any excuse.

Here's the Midget:

Midget is very non standard.  1400 K series, modified suspension (front and rear), 5 speed gearbox, LSD, massive brakes, rear discs, wide tyres, sprint/hillclimb/trackday/ fast road modified, the list goes on!

Here's the Rover P6:  Started life as a 3 speed auto, now it's 5 speed manual and wears some fairly non-original wheels (internet points for identifying wheel donor vehicle)

Here's the Land Rover.  Actually pretty standard.  2 1/4 petrol, extra slow, extra rattly, extra cold, extra awesome.

I'll need to dig out a picture of the Mini - it hasn't been on the road for around 6 years now.  It's currently pale purple (hmmm - thanks to sister) and is of 1970 vintage - my dad bought it when he was 16 and it's been with us since then.  A series powered (1293 now) with a 286 cam, twin 1 1/2, ported head, cross pin diff and some other goodies which are currently spread all over everywhere.  I'll have to start sweeping bits of engine and diff together....

In leiu of a Mini picture, here's an on-board video of me competing in the Midget at Harewood Hillclimb.

Cant beat a K series ;-) What mods have you done to the 1.4 to get the power? Cool selection of motors by the way, series 3 is awesome

Cheers :)  The K has an enclosed filter with cold air feed, (121 bhp on an open K&N) MGTF alloy manifold blended to head, 52mm throttle body, DIY 4 into 2 into 1 Exhaust and RC40 back box.  It runs on an Emerald K6, rev limit set to 7600 rpm, standard cams, standard bottom end, standard unmodified head.   I've done around 40K miles in it now, it's great.

Bit of a thread resurrection but there were a few Midgets up at the NEC Classic Motor Show with K-series engine (at least I think there were .. I dashed past them in a bit of a hurry). Now that's and interesting proposition for me as I have an in-line A-series powered but pre-Midget .. the Austin A35 .. or at least it will be once restored. Currently planning to fit a 1330 Midget engine .. but maybe I'll have a look at the "K" ...

My only concern would be the CoG of an A35 is considerably higher than a Midget (or Mini) and cornering could be interesting .. the Academy Race cars have already discovered that!! One "Ant Anstead" in particular .. !!

No pics as yet I'm afraid .. car is stored in a relative's garage and partially "buried" but due to be pulled in the next month and bought home ....

In the meantime, here's the "daily" ...
