Is there a torque setting for the bolts and locking nuts that secure the selector forks to the shafts on a pre a+ 1128 4 synchro box.

I think later boxes these are secured with roll pins but mine is bolts and lock nuts.

No there isn't, and they really don't need to be done that tight, I use a small ratchet spanner to do them up... probably no longer than 4 inches in length and they are only done spanner tight at that, but I do loctite them in...

Maybe helful which Bolts and nuts you need for the Mini. Sorry it is a mix of Englisch and German.

 

I have collected thes data from different sources and  own findings.

 

As Newtonmeter is internationally more and more used here some help:

 

1 Nm  =  0.101972 kpm

 

1 kpm = 9.80665  Nm

 

1 lbft  = 1.355818 NM

 

1 NM  = 0.737562 lbft

Hey I noticed that the wheel bearing nut is specified for drum brakes. Does someone know what it should be for front disk brakes? I also started another thread with the question for KAD rear disk brakes but now I'm seeing that I need to know both torque specs, front and rear.

Hey guys,

I asked Dave the original file to add the torque in Newton. I took the opportunity to tie the torque who are mentioned on the original rover manual.

You can verify if they are the correct values, or errors in general?

Following up on ths old thread, I wanted a ready reconner for general purpose nuts & bolts based on the head/spanner size. Lifting the torque settings from the MPI workshop manual for metric 8.8 and UNF Grade 5 tensile strength and reworking...

It could have been, however as you decided to compile your chart based on the head size it isn't that useful at all   it should be based on the thread and shank diameter, the fixing material, the thread manufacturing method, any heat treatment processes and the same for the threaded hole it fits into as these are all important and WILL have a detrimental effect on the torque wrench figure used.
