Hello peeps, I'm James...

I don't own a Mini but hopefully will do one day. Always fancied owning a hand full of cars and the Mini is certainly near the top of the list. Quite fancy a standard trimmed exterior with a nice paint job and a nippy engine.

I currently own a 1986 Ford Fiesta XR2 and you can usually find me on the XR Owners Club forum. The folks on there have been incredibly helpful with issues I've had with my car and I thought I'd see what you lot are like on here, and as far as I can see you all have a fetish for Mini's, and many of you South Park (stangely? :tongue: )

I'm trying to learn all I can about the Mini so that maybe one day I can just get up and go. Also my sister and her boyfirend own a 1980 Mini 1000, so I'd like to be able to help them as much as possible as they are both students and I'd much rather help them and learn by it than have them put it in a garage and pay through the nose and get ripped off.
I've had a quick scan through the FAQ's and there is MORE than enough to keep my busy reading through it all.

Hopefuly get to a couple of Mini show this year and check out the talent :grin:

A Mini shop in Huddersfield???? Ah yes, I've heard rumours LOL :tongue: :cheese:

I'm only a young lad with a lot to learn. Like I say I've always fancied a few cars, but ended up with an XR2 first so that's where I'm learning first. The CVH engine is pretty simple engine to work on and gives way more power than I need or want. Renound for it's handling, it's a good drive down the twisties.... but there aint anything like the 'go kart' experience a Mini gives you :grin:

Never heard of anyone putting a CVH into a Mini.... but I'd love to see it, be quite an interesting conversion, but I imagine the gearbox being the pain as ever.

If anyone has heard of this, I'd love to see some pics and documentation.
