i was just driving home from work down a duel carage way and i was doing 70mph and then i floored it and the f-ing clutch starting spining the engine revs went up but the didn't speed up. me thinks it one dead clutch, but i don't think a standerd clutch will keep this grip, im running a 1340 stage 3 engine and it just seems to sping the clutch as soon as i floor it.

try fitting a road/rally clutch plate cast is about £45, but if standard are no good worth spending the money, espexcially as you have done so much work on the engine......

A standard plate is good for bout 100 bhp, could be that ur clutch seal is worn or ur oil is too thin and seapin past it.

Try fittin a 'grey' diaphram, they are a little stronger than normal and shorld sort it

Jus stick with a standard plate and a grey diaphram, else ur leg will be achin like hell after a bit own town driving....

Have a look on the Mini Spares web site in the tech section, there is a good peice on clutches in there and it helps you make ur mind up on what ur after...

THE LORD GOD MINI SPEED SAY " i can't fit a uprated cover on a verto clutch" so i have orderd a bonded rally plate which they say will do the job very nicly.
