Hi all,

I’m looking to buy a mini but need some advice if you don’t mind?

I currently have an Escort SI that I need to get rid of so if anyone needs a bigger car and is interested in PX give me a shout…

Until I sell it can anyone tell me what’s the best model to go for and are there any major things (that cost ££) to watch out for. Once I sell my car I’ll have about £1500.00

Most mini’s I have seen have rust problems. Is this the norm and is it mega bucks to fix?

One last thing. Are they as fun as they look??

Cheers all.

Hogzi,

for £1500 you should get yourself a reasonable mini - the rust issues with them will always be there but are easy enough to sort out and not too expensive! If you're really lucky you will get one with no rust! it has been done!

As for fun.... Try chucking your escort in to a 90degree turn at 80 MPH and get it round there without spinning! did that in my last mini and scared the cr@p out of my passenger!! Whooooooo hoooo!

If i were you i'd look for a mini for about a grand then you'll have £500 quid to make it your own!

Are you after a project or a daily driver or a racer or something else?

Do we have a buying guide FAQ? ;)

They're more fun to drive than they look! :-
I can't stop grinnin as soon as i sit down!
