Some of you may or may not have noticed by now that the 'drives' and 'engine' fields under your avatar have disappeared, and a new 'Garage' button has appeared underneath your posts. This is an effort to integrate the forum a bit more with our Garage module. So instead of just getting limited information about a member's Mini, you can now quickly get access to a few more details about them, as well as a nice photo of the car too (as long as the member has uploaded one).

If you are having difficulty finding the new 'Garage' button, it is located here:


Upon clicking this shiny new button the whole world will be destroyed *evil laugh*, you will be presented with a box looking similar to this:


If the member hasn't yet added an entry to the Garage then the card will simply say 'This member does not have any entries in their Garage.', alternatively if you click your own button (oo er) and you haven't yet added an entry then you shall be asked to do so.

NB. Google Chrome users, and those with pop-up blockers, if you click the button and nothing happens, check that your pop-up blocker hasn't blocked it. Google Chrome users will see a little titlebar at the bottom right of your screen, which you can click to see the pop-up.

NB 2. This addition is in its infancy, I still have more plans for this little mod, and so changes will be on the horizon. I also appreciated that this will currently only show one entry from your Garage, so if you have more than one, sit tight and I'll get around to sorting that situation out shortly!

Sorry, that was a bug with IE that I knew about but forgot to take care of when I transferred from our test server! Should be OK now?

I've got a couple of suggestions with regards to the new Garage feature...

- I've got three of our Minis listed in my garage... and I was expecting them all to appear when I click on my garage button... but only the first Mini I entered shows. I think that people are probably expecting all of their minis to show in their garage when the garage button is pressed.

- I think a Current Status field should be added to explain what your mini is doing at the moment. The options available could be something like Daily Drive/On the road/Storage/Rolling Restoration/Full Restoration/Winter hibernation/........

- Also, the Body Type field should have Cabriolet added.

Overall, I really like the garage feature!

is says enter model make etc etc etc as mandatory sections.
just for example my Q plated one, it was 1st regestered in 1994 i believe but doesnt have a model because it was built from a shell, what about adding "other" into the list


also being a garage its far too clean

My Minus was a Q plate, so I just added what was on the V5. In your case are you able to just put in what the Mini was originally? Although.... adding 'Other' as a Make would allow people to add their other non-Mini cars which would be cool.... I'll have a think!

Also there is no Austin Morris Clubman - My estate is Austin Morris on the logbook.

How often does it update? Both home and work computers show my engine cc as 1312 and no picture, even though I changed the CC and picture.....Ive tried clearing the cookies/cache/temp files etc

Added those additions edi and Jackman.

Jordie, seems to caching issue server side. Just checked the DB directly and it still has the old details, so obviously what your seeing in the Garage module is from the DBs cache still, where as the 'card' takes its details straight from the DB (which hasn't yet been updated by the cache). Will work on a solution when I get back off holiday!
