Yep I worked at Duxford so had a few chats about them It depends who flew the 109. Mark Hanna could have anyone in a 109 against a Spitfire
I believe that was the problem when the Mosquito went in, a negative G move but the carbs were incorrectly set. See we are a mine of usless info on planes

Make sure there's no damage to your carb. Clean the silt out of your float chamber, change the jet and check the needle valve.

ahh you cant beat a merlin, i love WW2 aircraft was at a classic car show near me and there was a spitfire fly past and i came straight over the top of me... man it was some thing else ive also had the lancaster fly straight over the top of me! :grin:Unbelievable noise
anyway more to the point.
this is one of the reasons i have brought a HIF38 and am rebuilding it and fitting it, ive got a HS4 SU on it, havent experianced this problem but this will prevent it.
