alright guys, gonna do a r1 pro motive build but not sure on brakes and suspension.. looking through other posts, what do you make of these? http://www.minisport...nfo_MS2687.html
As for suspension, i have no idea, i guess you replace the shock with a shock and the rubber cones for springs? its a 1973 mk2 mini by the way.
cheers in advance.

I can't really comment on the brakes (other than that they do look nice :) ) but according to Darren from Pro-Motive he prefers the rubber donuts.

Surely different springs would solve that issue?

It's the coilovers that cause the problem they don't have enough travel in any of the kits I have seen, get coilovers with enough travel then you will have enough droop

Are you talking coil replacement for donuts or true coilovers...I used the std height road coilover conversion kit from GAZ and have been very happy with the amount of droop and bump travel I get with the std springs - 1" or so droop, ~1.50" to 2" to bump stops bump...

It's the coilovers that cause the problem they don't have enough travel in any of the kits I have seen, get coilovers with enough travel then you will have enough droop

I've got spax adjustables, neg bottom arms and rose jointed throughout - not coil overs, and they work great - I'd need some pretty serious convincing that coilovers are a better option.

Its took a bit of tweaking, but it handles superb right now.

Alex droop cannot be 4 inches, total travel up and down might be 4 inches if you lucky. If you soften the springs the problem will get worse, you need to up the spring rate to solve this problem but no more than will start to lift the car up. if that doesn't work for you progressive wound springs will do the trick

Cheers
David
