Hiya, I've got my original black (but now faded grey) wing mirrors off my car. I want to repsray them silver to match the body work, but I cant seem to get the mirror bit out - you can usually take this stuff apart cant you? theres a little hole in the bottom - which i've tried to lever the mirror bit out with but i dont want to break them! :gasp:

Or just try lots of good masking tape and mask off the lens? Must be easier than risking damage to it.

clubmankatiebf did exactly that with my mirrors, and sprayed them black, they look great, took about 10 mins to mask them up!

sounds good, but im not sure if i want to spray the black edging (arond the face of the mirror) too, you see im painting them silver, and i want a bit of contrast i think lol

... here the hole, and you can see what i mean about the black trim around the edge?

you could mask over the mirror glass and the black part, then plastic prime and spray the rest of it, should be a problem, use a sharp knife to get a good edge on the masking where you want it to stop...

(oops, sorry Pooky, had the reply window open for a few minutes before I replied, so didn't see your post!)
