If you see the tag ringed in the photo below, this has a carb number on it... note is down then look it up on Burlen Fuels website, it'll tell you exactly what it is, and where is came from !

it didnt come up with anythin, anyway... on the other post i did (because i dint know what section to put it in, so i put it in both) people said it was a hif44... cheers for that guessworks and bluemini

what's the number ?

the only thing you can be sure of is that it's an HIF carb... as they are all the same from the outside !

thats why, because the 'o' should actually be a 'c'

so, whats the actual difference betwen a hif38 and 44 ???

Throat size, HIF44 is 1 3/4" and HIF38 is 1 1/2". I think they are actually metric, so HIF38 would be 38mm and HIF44 would be 44mm?

you take one off, and put the other on.. then re-tune car !

The studs are in the same place, and on some even the hole in it is 1.3/4" already, if not it'll just need grinding out which does not take long..
