Hi all
i have an 81 clubman estate which at some time has been converted to 8.4 discs.
not sure if they are metro or later mini discs ,is there a difference ?
anyway i come to fit the fronts and found the front hose caliper end thread is slightly longer and has a flat end ,the goodridge hose has the shorther thread and angled head
i'll try and add a pic ,my camera is not good on close-ups !!
has anyone come across this ? i went for the mini drum/disc 84 on kit from goodridge ,then went on the website and found they did a mini metro conversion kit.
please let me know what you think /the thread is the same by the way its just the pic

as long as you use the copper washer, they fit easy peasy

I suspect that the Goodridge hoses are made using universal ends. A lot of cars I've worked on use copper sealing washers between the flat on the hose fitting and a spotface on the caliper/cylinder. Other cars I've worked on use a conical seat in the caliper/cylinder for flare fittings. It looks to me like the Goodridge hose could be used with either.

I suspect you'll find the new hoses work fine in your application. I would use new copper washers though... or at least sand the old ones down flat to remove any ridges or burrs that they have.

Regarding the thread length, you can test the Goodridge hose by first threading it in the hole WITHOUT the copper washer. If the Goodridge fitting completely bottoms out on the hex OR gets within about 1/2 the thickness of the new copper washers, you will be fine.
