I need to replace my rear wheel brake cylinders AGAIN :)

How would I re-attach the circlip if I don't have a circlip tool? Unfortunately I can't fork out for one for a couple of weeks, and I want brakes on my mini before then :)

Also how important is it for the backplate to be in perfect condition? Mine is a tiny bit deformed. It doesn't interfere with the drum or anything, should I just straighten it out as much as possible with pliers? It doesn't look like it's the easiest thing to replace...

As long as the backplate is fairly good and straight in the right places, then it should be ok. The circlip can be put on with a couple of screw drivers and foul language...
