hi, i just bought angel eye headlights, hooked em up, everything was perfect so put em in and fitted everything back on, but then tried em again and the halo doesn't come on at all, but the dips and main beam are grand. so i thought they might have earthed or something because i never taped em up, so took em out taped em up but still no halo. have i blown a fuse? if so where is it?! oh yeah, and the tail lights dont work at all now so i'm stranded!! please help!

It sounds to me like you've blown a fuse mate, I think its one of the inline fuses under the scuttle. The best person to ask bout this is 1991Cooper, he's had his fair share of wiring dilemas!!

Right so you've lost the sidelight (halo) and also the taillights?

Richie is right it's an inline fuse thats gone unfortunately if you loom is anything like mine the fuses won't be marked so i can't tell you exactly which one it is. But there are four under the scute tucked up above the carb, best bet will be to work through them logically, all 15amp so that'll be the only fuse you need. If that don't work let me know and i'll have another think!

Cheers

Scott

right, i checked those fuses and any other ones i found. but theres only 3 inline fuses, not 4 as you say. apparently i'm looking for a red/green wire, found a few but they all bypass the inline fuses. any ideas please?! :)

It's definately a fuse!

Right you only have 3 in-line fuses, but there are definately 4 because i have had the same problem, so you'll have to really have a root through your wiring start at the main fuse box, check all the connections are clean and replace all the fuses as a precaution, you will then have to move a cross to the in-line fuses do the same replace every fuse, and check all connection, try unwrapping some of the loom here and see if you can locate the fourth fuse as this will probably be the one that has gone.

If you can't find that fuse you could be stuck because if the fuse has been removed from the loom, and you've had a surge across the circuit you may well have fried some of the wiring, then you got troubles!

Also check that all the crapy connectors behind the grill are all on, these connectors are a pile of rubbish and can be connected up and not work. because you have been fiddling with the wires in that area then you might find thats the problem.

Best cure for this is to replace all the lighting connectors behind the grill.

Got it! thank god! it was a fuse in the main box! i'm a dumbass. was using a phaze tester thingy across the box so i thought it was grand, but wasn't the current going through the actual phaze tester!! so it looked fine! anyway, all fuses replaced, everything lookin fab, i could dismantle a headlight with my eyes closed by now!!
thanks a mil for all the help lads, don't even have a chance to drive it now anyway, got finals on tues :)
