Ok... I might be being quite ambitious here... but would I get a VTEC Engined mini insured at the age of 17? (Assuming it was still in the front and a front wheel drive, so in effect just an engine swap!)

Thanks :)

Adam :P

EDIT: Ok thought so... would a 1380cc a series be pushing it?

If you do a v-tec conversion, technically it's a kit car, which is generally cheaper insurance than road cars. Food for thought :)

You would probably find someone after hours and hours of looking and phoning people but it would be VERY expensive. I probably could have insured mine at 17 but decided not to! basically because i couldnt afford it so didnt bother trying.

I'll be driving mine this year, im now 19, many people turned me down but i have had a quote of £2k thats agreed value blah blah. They wouldnt insure me on a classic policy or anything like that. Just a normal policy with all mods declared.

All thats coming from someone who owns one and has been in your shoes so thats your answer. You'll get insured if you can find someone to and if you have enough money!

You won't be covered if you don't declare it..

If you are involved in an accident your insurance will become void.

And for those people who suggest not declaring modifications or a bigger engine should be shot.

At the age of 17 you'll be lucky to get insured on a 1275 these days.

Thanks

Is it? I would expect a kit car to be a lot more?
