I am thinking of using my centre auxhilliary gauge hole to mount a push 'start' button. But I am a bit worried that it may look a bit chav. I have got a charcoal 3+3 dash with magnolia gauges in it, I have a volt meter and an oil pressure gauge in two of the centre cut-outs, but have the centre one (where I was going to fit a clock) spare.

What do people think?
Too chav? Not too chav?

Or, am I better having it a little more hidden? (bearing in mind it will be de-activated by a master switch anyway.

i think the brushed ally ones look nice. Somehow look modern and classic at the same time....

i think you'll struggle to find a 52mm push button though

have you got pics of ones you've got in mind?

I am thinking of having a 'hidden' master cut off switch in a secret location. Then I was going to use a stainless steel disk to fill the hole and have the button in the middle of it.

Well, seeing as it won't cost me anything to do it, I might as well just go for it and see what I think when it is done.

I dont think its too chavvy atall, I agree with what Pooky said bout the brushed Al ones looking classic-mod!!

They are quite funky infact, and the 'hidden' switch is a very good idea

It's great being a designer, I get to order free samples of cool stuff and also get to take stock items from work so I can 'design mounting panels' or 'get some dimensions from it'. I get soooo many freebies. :fear:  :fear:
