I note that you are placing damaging threads relating Mr Morson/Morspeed as a company. The forum has previously been warned that this matter is the subject of County Court proceedings and yet you post comments which slander Mr Morson/Morspeed as a company. I now formally give you 48 hours to remove these posts and all related posts, Your failure to adhere to this request will result in an immediate application being made to the County Court for injunctive relief and damages against The mini Forum & yourself by 18th May 2009.

Yours faithfully

Mander Cruickshank Solicitors LLP

I would just like to point out to anybody who thinks I deserved such threats that if you look at the thread to which this message is referring

http://www.theminifo...24448&hl=<br />
you will see that I made no slanderous comments at all, I merely suggested that the original poster check out other threads on the company and make his own desicion.

I leave you faithful members of the forum to make up your own minds about the company Morspeed. (Although apprently you are not allowed to voice them on a public forum designed for such a purpose).

Which username sent you this PM?

Freedom of speach anyone?

Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship or limitation. The synonymous term freedom of expression is sometimes used to denote not only freedom of verbal speech but any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression are closely related to, yet distinct from, the concept of freedom of thought. In practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country and the right is commonly subject to limitations, such as on "hate speech".

The right to freedom of speech is recognized as a human right under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and recognized in international human rights law in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). The ICCPR recognizes the right to freedom of speech as "the right to hold opinions without interference. Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression".[1][2] Furthermore freedom of speech is recognized in European, inter-American and African regional human rights law.

Slander? Slander is spoken words.
The correct term would be libel as in written words. Basic mistake for a solicitors there, id be finding a better solicitor :(

In common law jurisdictions, slander refers to a malicious, false and defamatory spoken statement or report, while libel refers to any other form of communication such as written words or images.

And any solicitor would want to send a letter, not a PM or EMAIL via an internet forum. They would not want to be directly involved/registered with a site they hold as "libel" againist morspeed.

Further to that, it is Morspeed's duty to provide evidence that the claims are false, rather then the users of the forum.

you should let it go through, any magistrate would see that you have made no comments about any company, mearly pointed a user to someone who has had issues so they could make there mind up.

If someone has posted this and isnt actually an employee of the firm that person is going to be in some serious doo doo. It brings the reputation of the firm into disrepute.

We had this happen at a firm of solicitors I worked at - wasnt pretty
