Nope, never had an issue. Alas, that Mini is no more. On my current MPi, I wanted to do the same thing but unfortunately the bodyshop doing the light resto drilled the holes in the doors in slightly the wrong place so I couldn't use them this time. Instead, I fitted grommets in the hols on the body and door, then used black heat shrink on the speaker wires where they'd be exposed. The cables were a snug fit in the grommets and seeing as the wires are a lot thinner than the gaiters I used previously, it really is very discreet and unnoticeable.

Already done that in my current mpi. Don't know if you have the same glove box as an mpi, but they have a cut out section in the back which takes the standard interior light. Fitted a dual USB port in the side of the glove box as well as two passenger ones in the rear companion bins. 12v cig lighter socket went under the rear seats in the support bracket.

Can share pics later if you want ?

That looks pretty good! What sort of gaiters were you planning to use? I’ve been trying to get my hands on some but am having a hard time finding some locally, and most UK parters I’ve messaged won’t post to New Zealand

The gaiters were from a Mk1 Metro tailgate. They're quite hard to find unfortunately. Especially in good nick.  They do look more 'professional' but they're also a bugger to fit. If you do go for them, make sure you thread your cables through first.

Ah right. Unfortunately for me, there are very few Metros in NZ. Do you have any suggestions about where I may find some?

I'd suggest setting up watch alerts on eBay for someone stripping or scrapping a metro, and keep an eye on the facebook groups for similar.  You may be able to modify a pair or Rover 100 tailgate gaiters if you can find some. They're very similar, but with the addition of a flange around each end which is (if I remember correctly) gets in the way.  You may even be able to track down a pair of those new. If you can contact a Rover parts dealer, they should be able to get you the part number and / or supply you with a pair. Failing that, putting the part number into Google should bring up some hits.  And again, keep an eye on eBay. 100's often get scrapped and stripped.

I have a pair of those. Just concerned about cutting a rectangular hole. Do you have some pictures of the holes you cut for yours?
