Hey folks, the brakes on my mini are causing a few problems.
It appears that the master cylinder spring is not releasing the pressure off the brake system and is causing the brakes to lock on when used for lots of heavy braking, IE on the ring. Whenever the master cylinder is hit with a hard object something seems to free itself and the car is then free to move. If the brakes are not used for a long period of time, the cylinder does also free itself. It is a dual line system from a 72 car, using Metro 4 pot non vented calipers and solid disc, on the rear it is spacered drums.
It is only the front brakes locking up as i have jacked up the rear of the car and the drums rotate freely when the fronts are stuck
Anyone got any suggestions? Rebuild the cylinder?

James do you have a pic of the master cylinder? If you do I could compare it to the spare one I have, and if its the same I could send it with the wiring loom?
