Right, when i accelerate hard the car jerks quite hardly, so i'm thinking this is the engine steady? Would it be correct in thinking it could be that?

If it is, would it be the top steady that is mounted to the bulkhead?

I had been looking on the KAD website and saw that they do an engine steady, would this be an improvement on the original and is this the correct 1 for the top steady?

Or would it be as good to replace the bushes in the original top steady?

Thanks
Mike

yeah, i was thinking that it replaces the one to the left side of the head, i was looking at that as i wanted to improve it, but i didnt think i really need the stabilizer like the 1 you posted as its only on a 998.

Just wondered if the KAD 1 would be an improvement without making any mods or would the replacement bushes solve it?

No you won't. The KAD steady runs without bushes and is dead solid. It's not great for a road car because of this, it's strictly a race part. Your engine needs to be able to vibrate a little, that's why Rover used rubber bushes. It would have been very simple for them to mount it solidly but make the car pretty harsh and very noisy to drive.

Fit genuine polybush uprated bushes to both the top and bottom standard steady bars and you won't need an ultimate engine steady on the head to go with it. I run these and they are rock solid, but still absorb noise and vibration. I did away with my ultimate engine steady shortly after fitting them and 3 years on everything is still cool.
