id look to change the tower bolt holes in your actual shell... wouldnt modify the promotive subframe, or it will loose value for future resale thoughts...

as for fuel pressure. I ran a facet solid state comp pump too, so 6-7 psi, then the R1 carbs have the facility to regulate it.

The box section on the twin bolt system has two tubes and a box weld in it to carry the clamping force of the two bolts, they may still be in the box section. which would mean you could drill them and tap the subframe. the subframe has a metal plate between body and subframe and not the rubber which later cars have.

What is this hole for ? Hydroelastic lines? looks like they would line right up with the mk4 bolts.

on the hydro minis there was a plastic tube in that hole, normally it has a runbber bung. if you remove the two bolts and locking tab plate, try fitting the subframe, I cannot see any reason why it would not fit.

One things that's sometimes neglected in this type of conversion is proper sleeving of the mounting points. Bolting through thin metal sheet with no support won't be helped much by adding plate - even welding plate, as the primary load axis is along the bolt - so you must weld in a sleeve for a properly engineered conversion.

Would somthing like this work? A couple of grade 8 bolts and some plating I could weld in?

how exactly does Mini Tec do it then? All of there kits seem to be for a mk4? None the less Nothing will be touched until september.

i have a mk2 shell and a mk4 subframe i will try to fit them together. shortly

I will be Taping the subframe as it seems to be the easiest solution. I am going to the use the locking plate off of the top mounts as a template which I think will work. I will post pics whn I do this

This is what I had in mind. Remove the engine out of the kit (replace the clutch while its out and putting in an lsd.) Bolt up the subframe to the truck with the tower bolts. Drill and tap the hole for the mk 2-3 mounting. Replace motor and then bolt it up.
