Just done cleaning my block, 998 a+ to be precise. I took out the old core plugs as they were cruddy and rusty. Bought some shiney new ones today. I can't find them mentioned in any book, so i was wondering what was the best way to install them?
I'm not sure whether to use some sort of sealant, or whether to just tap them in dry.
Cheers in advance.

Cup core plugs - use a socket which fits inside the plug fairly well and knock them in till they stop.
Domed core plugs - fit them in place and hit them in the centre with a hammer till they are nearly flat. These are dodgy things and you need to get them in tight, so try to get the middle as flat as you can.
You can use a bead of sealant under the rim of them if you like but don't use too much.
