just a quicky, just fitted the rev counter i bought back last year!!!

i have all the wires in place, just im not sure what side of the coil i need to take the source from!

Assuming negative ground, the rev counter wire would go to the negative side of the coil. You won't damage the coil or rev counter if you connected it incorrectly it just wouldn't work.

As Blue said, on late model cars with negative ground the connection is typically on coil (-). This is the side of the coil that is connected to the distributor.
