on my pro-motive r1 mini, i have used the original wiring loom, and extended the fuel sender to the back of the mini, to my standard mini petrol tank, and wired it into the mini sender, I am getting a fault code on my tacho ( fuel sender ) has anyone else done this, or had this problem? and if so how do you solve it??
cheers

Hey yeah i had the same prob! i think whats needed is a loop with two wires at the ecu end just basically the ecu cant see that there is a sender connected so u have got to fool it into doing so!!! iv forgotten of the top of my head what they are atm but i can have a goose l8r on but Phil knows about this error & he will tell you the wire colour codes...

ah okay, but does that still give you a fuel reading? I dont have any sort of fuel reading, or do you just get a light on when its getting low? or do you just have 2 guess haha

Well there is the get out & find a stick option! lol
sorry i miss read i thought you meant you had a mini sender & gauge which is my set up! i see what you have tried to do with extending the loom back etc im not to sure if that works it might have a sensory drop because of the length or its just not calibrated to read the output of the mini tank sender!
good luck hehehe it probably just needs the system reseting it tells you how in the booklet o you can find it out on line!!
