Hey Everyone! Was driving yesterday when out of the blue the mini just shut down. Cranks over, pulled the plug- it was wet, tried to spark it and no joy. Replaced the coil, not it, replaced the HT leads, nope, try to connect the plug direct to the coil, still no spark. opened the distributer- points seem to be closing and opening properly, Voltage at the + side of the coil is 12v at the - side with the points closed is about 1.5v. What do I need to do to get back on the road?!?!?! Any help would ROCK!!!

condesor has died or the little earth cable in the dizzy, also do the point shut?

The points look to be shut, checked with an ohmmeter. If the condensor died would the car have had slight almost unnoticable "burps" while accelerating right before it died? We were driving, I said that there was something amiss with the car, my passenger didnt even notice it. Is the condensor easy to replace, and is there a way to check it to see that it is definately that before i replace it? Thanks everyone!

Still going crazy. not even a little spark, cleaned the points- not sure what else to test! F*#K!!!

What about the rotor arm and dizzy cap, are they both in good condition.

The rotor arm and the cap look fine, I did try to test for continunity on the rotor. From the comtact inside the sleeve and the arm itself. The multimeter read zero. Is this supposed to be 1 solid conncetion?
