Thats more like it. Looks good!

I can't tell what engine that is haha.....?

You make the subframe? Looks like it fits in nicely.

No clearance issues?

C16XE - Vauxhall 1600 16V. Will be running CBR900 ITB's, Megasquirt ECU and a 50 shot of Nitrous for good measure. ~210bhp

Home made frame, way stronger and an Allspeed frame in my opinion, and a better design. No clearance issues whatsoever. It was basically a case of - it needs to fit, so I'll make it fit!. Shame I had to cut the front end off though, but its a million times more. practical. And after all - its now more of a race car than anything else.

Should be great fun in a minus!

Could you not have just cut the inner wings out?

Fancy making another subframe? ;)

Nope. The engine fitted fine, but the subframe wouldn't. It was a case of modify the front valance to allow the front subframe bar to slide up into the engine bay, or cut the lot of. In the long run i think it'll more than pay off though. At least it'll fit fine as opposed to most front ends lmao.

And as for the subframe - no lol. There isn't a lot i'd change on my frame, and the basic structure didn't take long. But there is about 25 gussets I welded in, which took forever!!. Then whats left of the standard frame I seam welded.

Everything is stupidly tight, examples - lol

5mm - cambelt to bonnet
2mm - gearbox to tower front
4mm - gearbox to steering rack

etc..

Not quite, but nearly. It's on Landy V8 engine mounts, which are pretty hefty!. Engine movement has been accounted for in any case. There shouldn't be much with these mounts, and any hint of torque is likely to spin the wheels out of control!

A big block engine would be far too heavy for a Minus IMO. But it'd make things slightly easier going 8V!

Trying to keep as much as possible either Vauxhall, or universal stuff at the front end, to make stuff cheaper to replace and more modern. And to answer the actual question - '93-'00 Corsa/Tigra radiator. I believe its also standard fitment for this exact engine. When I get some proper pics up like on 16v, you'll see I had to stick a bend in it to clear the N/S headlight.

As always there's an exception - the alternator is a Denso from a Daihatsu, but it is fitted with the standard vauxhall pulley.

Not bad though, looks like it would fit pretty damn well even with the vaux frame. Mine is a lil small really.

Where does the bottom hose come out?

Check out 16v mate, loads more pics on there. At the same point as the LHS one but it points straight back. If the whole lot was shifted to the drivers side, it'd drop straight in on the standard hoses. But as standard, there is no room on these builds lmao.

I looked at an early polo rad, but I don't think it'd be quite big enough for the abuse this will be getting!.
