The following car's new to me and has been worked on over the past few months by the kids at this place (Banbury):

Here's its spec:

Why did I get a Mini?

I used to sprint in a 1.6 kitcar and was continually getting spanked by 1 or 2 very fast Minis, to my irritation; if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I decided there must be a reason why:
  • the Mini is such a cult,
  • there is almost never a club motorsport event (rally, autograss, racing, sprint, autosolo, autotest, rallycross or autocross) without at least one Mini competing

and I wanted to find out myself why they are so popular. Answer: British old school charm, tremendous handling, huge parts industry, great fun to drive and you REALLY feel the speed, unlike modern vehicles!

Have got a fibreglass bonnet (with a built in cold air scoop) on the way, hence this thread:
http://www.theminifo...x...=188751&hl=

I also got the 'Four wheel alignment' set up for a £100 (local garage did it using an impressive infra-red sensors/computer set up)

The LCB of the exhaust manifold appears to have a crack in it, so got to get this sorted out (and I've also got to get some road legal tyres on it) by a week tomorrow for this event:

Am collecting some 2H forest tyres on tuesday.

I'm trying to work out roughly what performance (0-60 etc.) my Mini's likely to have by seeing what other Minis will do:
http://www.theminifo...x...187306&st=0

I'm also on the look out for the following:
Door Bars that will fit a Safety Devices roll cage:
http://www.britishra..._...&view=22792

Tyres: road, tarmac rally, or forest rally -even worn right down would still be useable!
12" Tyres
http://www.britishra..._...&view=22792

10" tyres (any type or condition)
http://www.britishra..._...&view=22792

I wanted to post some 'Wanted' ads onto this site but I couldn't find where it is that I pay the £5 'TMF+' fee -anyone know where this is detailed on the site?

I had a panic over whether I'd put the right Antifreeze in, but it turned out OK in the end:

Despite the Mini's low CofG, there's a fair bit of body roll evident in the photos of it cornering, so I considered Anti Roll Bars:

The brakes take a fair bit of pedal pressure to make 'em work, so this issue was discussed at length:
