When I steer or go on full lock the wheels seem to make a funny knocking noise. I don't know what it is. I had the CV joints replaced and it has recently had the ball joints replaced. Any ideas what it is?

check all your mounts etc and also good idea to get the front wheels off the ground and have a listen... but sure does sound like CV's...

The noise is coming from the left hand side.
Ive tried all the wheel nuts and none are loose.
The wheel bearing was recently replaced on that side.
Is there anything else it could be?

it could be the wheel bearing on the other side making it sound like that side.

What about the inner CV joint, like Guessworks said, deffo sounds like a CV joint.
How fast is the car moving. does it do it when moveing increadibly slow and how much lock before it starts. Does it do it in a straight line?

I got it check out before I drove all those miles to nurburgring and the guy at the garage said it was fine.
Did the run and it didnt make the noise until halfway into the trip.
The CV joints have been replaced so it couldn't be that.
It does it e.g. when pulling out of a space that I have to get out of using full lock or half lock.
This occurs at slow speeds and continues until I speed up and the noise stops.
It still makes the noise after pulling out of the space and I head down the road doing 30 mph. A few miles down the road it stops.
Please can anyone help?

But surely my mechanic would have done all this when he replaced them?

Right friday week the mechanic will be coming for a run in the mini to check out the noise.
I suggested maybe its the inner cvs and he said thats very rare but a possibility.
