I recently phoned Footman James as a last resort about insuring my Mini Racing Green with a MG Metro engine, after every other company under the sun had either refused me or quoted me something ridiculous (e.g. Adrian Flux, £4000+). It had got to the stage where me and my dad thought the only solution was to fit a standard 998cc engine and go with Directline (approx. £1400).
But then, expecting the worst, Footman James responded with a quote of £680 TPFT for when I passed my test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why?
- Because my Mini is over 15 years old, it's treated as a classic, so is under a cheaper, classic policy.
- Also, I had to join the British Mini Club to recieve that quote, but for £20 a year, it's a fair deal!
So young drivers, (unfortunately only ones with Minis older than 15 years), join the BMC and give Footman James a call!
Hope this is of some help to some people,
Robbie.
