Yes. The Charade with a bit a fettling can easily produce 150bhp per liter. That Bently motor struggles to knock out 600bhp ie less than 100 per liter. After all, the perfect cylinder capacity is 333cc. Guess what he charade has? Three 333cc cylinders giving a 999cc engine :smartass:

nah, but it produces more power per CC, which makes it a good engine.

Put the bentley engine in a Mini and the Charade engine in another (imaging they both fit) and the Bentley would win (straight line speed).

Power to weight ratio would be massive in the Bentley Mini.

I've been looking at which Vtec to go for; 1.6 or 1.8 and I heard the same thing as you OSB. Decided to go with the 1.6, mainly since I will be staying on 10" wheels so trying to stop it from wheelspinning everywhere is going to be hard enough with that!

How much does one of those Benty engines way? I bet your looking at half a ton? My charade motor will be kicking out 250bhp maybe 270 if im lucky. If you add 500 kg engine in to a car that weighs say 350 kgs with out an engine your looking at a total weight of 850 kgs. Plus sum heavy duty props and suspension to take the massive torque and it should take it up to about 1000kg
Put that 550 bhp Bently motor in and your looking at 550bhp per tonne.

The Charade engine ways 150kgs with every thing on it plus the 350kgs of car and it a total weight of 500kgs. Thatll give 540bhp per ton.

Its not that far out anyway is it? :nugget:

Them figures are of the new Charades. Try the old Gttis. A bit different I think youll find.

Im not sure why 333cc is the best. Ive read it a few times in diffeent books. Probably one of those scientific reasons.

Nothing special about 150bhp / litre ..

300 bhp for a 2.0 is the norm for Scoobs, Cossies etc. Infact, the team ice Impreza had 700+ bhp before nos on a 2.0! :smartass:

if you want a 2 litre engined powered mini my recomendations would be go the vtec. all the b series engine ( b16a 1.6l and b18c 1.8l ) are all mounted the same way the only difference is that the b18c is a taller engine. the h22a ( 2.2 l vtec ) is mounted very much the same to the b series engines. so you could just get a vtec subframe kit from anyone that supplies them ( watsons sae ) and slightly modify it to mount the h22a. your trouble would be trying to shoce all that engine inside the mini . lol

So your thread isn't totally hi-jacked:
here's a subframe me and a mate built for a 16valver xe. Just cut the subframe mounting points off the mini subframe and built down from there with box section.
