Having had my interest in watching speedway rekindled by SKY, I finally got the opportuity to go to Arena Essex last night with another SMAG member for Lakeside Hammers versus Ipswich Witches. 3 laps completed in the first race and an Ipswich rider falls, the race is awarded in the positions the remaining riders were in and then................ the heavens opened for about 20 minutes. Despite the track staff working tirelessly for almost an hour the meeting was abandoned. I now hope I can get to use my ticket for the rearranged meeting in a couple of weeks.
