well ive been on here a few months now and never really got round to doing a project thread well here goes...
1988 mini designer 1000, aquired it from my mums partner for my 13th 7months ago, started by stripping it out and seeing what was wrong with it ... a lot!, both floorpans GONE, sills GONE, bootfloor GONE so that is the main priority when it get to his garage, engine i just took the knackered head off and it has now had an unleaded conversion and with a battery and leccy ignition should hopefully start!! interior wise i went to pick up the original interior saturday (thanks willcox u made a very little boy very happy lol ) so basically i have all the bits for the interior. got a front panel which will b fitted soon and now just to nget all exterior trim (nimbus grey my fav colour ) and doors etc etc. have 4 years til i can drive so should be a good laughy restoration lol!

thanks! hopefully at the weekend i will have an angle grinder and mig welder at hand so i can get down to buisiness

Good luck with the project Chris! Sounds like there's a bit (ok maybe more than a bit) more work to do but you sound like you'll complete it well before the four years with your enthusiasm; so nice to see another Designer being brought back to life!

mate thats why im stripping it for the good panels, ive brought a front panel-thats new isnt it!!, and got good panels on it inc scuttle, w/arch panels, a panels, rear panel etc etc, i know u want to do a performance car but sometimes you just have to use what youve got and set yourself a budget.
remember im going back to original!!
