to put a pearl over it you'll need to take the laquer down before painting on the pearl then laquer over the top of that....hi, i need some advice from a body shop type person. i want to know if there is somthing i can do to lighten the colour of my car, with out respraying it, could i put a pearl colour over the top or somthing like that????????
thanks Alex
it will make it look good (better if already mettalic paint), but given the cost of a pearl effect paint, you're prob best off just respraying it the colour you want...
hope thats of some help.....
if you want to go for a non standard effect paint still.... check out www.rage-extreme.com, you cant go far wrong with those

if its not laquered...then yeah you could add the pearl to it then laquer over that... :wink:the paint isn't laquerd, so i could just key the serface and put the peal on? or would just laquering the car make the colour lighter?
Alex
but im not sure how the pearl will look on solid red (i take it it is that car your on about)
just laquering it wont lighten it tho', it'll just make it more shiny
