:nugget: can any one tell me were i can get the rubber seal from that goes between the calipers on 4 pot metro brakes. not the piston seals . the ones in the caliper its self
the rubber is still soft but i would like to replace them. PS i did not split them they were like that when i brought them did not know you should not seperate them
any help would be great .CHEERS

In the past you could never get them or the new bolts needed. or the torque wrench settings for the bolts

As Siggy says above... this is why ALL the manuals say do not split the two halves of the caliper...
Your only option is to use the seal you have, and the torque level is around 70lbft, and use locknut on the bolts.
The reason I say 70, is that's how much torque it took to remove a bolt from a severly corroded pair I had.

70 was the torque needed to remove a set from a corroded caliper, not to tighten new bolts in a new caliper.

Mayube slightly different because mine are alloy, but I've just had to take the spacer out of my KAD 4 pots and they didn't have a problem with me doing that, gave me new O-rings to use, and sent me shorter bolts, and told me to torque them to 25 (can't remember whether they stated Nm or lb/ft though).

I rang AP again today and left a message with a bloke called ken ewers
i asked him the torque settings for the caliper bolts he got back to me and said it is
35 to 39 newton meters if that helps any one. just have to find the bolts now or use the old ones with some nut lock. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE :fear:

No
They would not know the tech spec of the bolts.
Is it worth the effort!!!
Buy a secondhand caliper
