*snip*
But what is the best programme to use to download YouTube video's and can you extract the audio (or rip?) to make MP3 files? I tried one programme but it didn't work, or perhaps my pop-up blocker was preventing it.

Hi Taffy....

Many thanks for these awesome videos! They are brilliant.

Not sure about the extraction of audio, but I grab YouTube videos with http://keepvid.com/ - paste the full URL of the video at this site, and download the 'High Quality' version which will save the videos as MP4 files which can then be viewed in Windows Media Player.

Here's another short archive Mini video featuring footage of the massive cavalcade at Silverstone for Mini 30: -

That was Sunday the 27th of August 1989 and I was somewhere on that gridlocked track.

God I feel old.

:dozing: :D

Thanks Taffy another great video clip . I remember that day well and the Mini Cooper Register hosted the 1989 IMM at Silverstone that weekend too. Sadly none of the birthday cavalcades since seem to have been as big or as much fun probably due to all the various rules and regulations imposed on those running public events since.............. ^_^
I wonder how many of those Minis in the cavalcade have survived 20 more years on the road to celebrate at Mini 50 events this year?

With that classic Mini TV advert above from 1989, I got all creative as the soundtrack on my 20 year old video tape wasn't good.

So thanks to the miracle that is Windows Movie Maker, I was able to effectively remix/overlay (or whatever?) the actual song used from a 1960's CD compilation album we have. I got it spot on so it ran parallel with the low quality original soundtrack, then I set it so you only hear the high quality stereo mind blowing version instead. Plus it began and ended at the same points and I set it to fade in and out too.

So thank God for MySpace, because after going to all that trouble and uploading it to YouTube, the rotten gits removed the audio due to it being copywrite!: -

I'm not happy as there's thousands of video's on there featuring copywrite music, including video's with music from The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix which are probably the most copywrite protected stuff that exists.

:dozing:

I doubt they were ever allowed to do it again as for a start the Police were not amused to have the roads around Silverstone totally gridlocked with thousands of Minis.
