how would i tell if i had an unleaded head, if i havent, would this be the reason my engine is smoking??

Well i can help you there, if you had a leaded head you would not be able to lift your head from the pillow!! and when your sitting upright your head will be very hard to hold upright, just like a new born babies...how would i tell if i had an unleaded head...

try leaded fuel and look if its still smoking

Check for exhaust valve seat inserts. here's an insert, prior to final cut. the lip being talked about is about 1/4 down from the surface. If it's smooth all the way around, from surface down into the port, then it's not inserted/unleaded. If you feel a hard, 90 degree lip and opens up a bit more after that, then it's got inserts.
