Can't seem to get the stage 1 kit to fit.
The problem is that I can't fit the air filter (pancake K&N). There's not enough room between the engine and the bulkhead. If fitted the inlet manifold and the carb but the filter just wont fit. I've tried fitting the parts in different variation but the problem is that there is not enough space. It won't even fit without the carb spacer! What can be the problem?
It's a 998cc with a HS4 carb.
Please help because the mini is off the road :nugget:
Thanks in advance, Jam2005

You need to tilt the engine forward slightly to gain enough room to get it in.
It may also be necessary to modify the bulkhead very slightly (using a big hammer).

it is suprising how important a hammer is when working on your mini. :fear:

They will fit... but the best filter to use is the cone shaped one... but as philster says, you may have to release the top engine steady to allow you room to get the filter on..
And the big hammer is another very useful tool
