Hey guys just been looking today for a shopping list for my interior, i fancy going with a pair of bucket seats in the pickup, what do people think about the classic OMP range ? does anyone have any photos of them installed, i also want an OMP corsica Deep dish 14" steering wheel again peoples veiws- pics etc. ( as you may be able to tell i want OMP)

also i like the idea of trying to keep it looking pretty standard i know the bucket seats sound rad but they dont look to new, i would like to maintain the classic look of the pickup so i have an idea of using the centre pod design but enlargeing it slightly so i can get a couple more dials in, or alternativly i will go for a complete dash using the pod design in the center also if i do have a complete dash made up i think i will move the ignition from the steering colum to be built into the centre of the dash.

just wondered if people had photos, or treid this all before.

Cheers

:D

I have the omp corsica on my list too, i've heard very good reviews about them and they seem popular with the more race style minis, i would like to see one fitted also if some has a pic.

are you going to drop the steering colum ?

im thinking about dropping the colum right down, depending where it sits i may even shorten the colum because, i will have the extra length from the snap on hub and also the 3" extra for the deep dish wheel itsself

mate your mini is pukka ! love the grill !

Wb!

Thanks mate, no i wasn't going to drop the colum and i won't be using a snap off hub so that will help, if you speak to 1380rich he has the corsica wheel maybe he can help you with this more, you'll find him in mini engine projects section where his car topic is.

High 5 to a fellow Pickup owner :P
I'm going for the same type of look as you. I've got a pair of Cobra Classics with headrests that are going in mine. Keeping the plastic centre clock but making a custom speedo, by using the outer of the Mini speedo and replacing the inner with a Digi-Dash, like so:

The just keeping 2 other dials either side. I'm doing it to keep the clean old-skool type of look inside but still have a rev counter etc. Then to match it's going to be on 10" 70's Cosmic wheels (10x6), Mk1 front grille, bonnet with leather bonnet straps and hopefully going to fabricate some brackets to raise the rear of the bonnet up slightly, old-skool racer look! :P
Dan

dan let me know how the speedo goes.... yeh i emailed OMP and apparently the only 2 places in the uk which is wales and really up north, and they dont actually supplie the mini rails for it the blokle at demon tweeks told me to just drill out cobeau rails. what the hell !

same with me, old school look, classic bucket seats, roll cage, im tempted to customise the dash ( either metal sheet then customise, or exent the pod + add more dials), mk 1 grill, i have orginal austin cooper alloy wheels 10" the in need of a serious referb though, will have its ass on the floor aswell.

I actually bought the speedo off a chap off the forum, he had a few up for sale a while back. He and a few others have fitted them to A-series cars, and wiring doesn't look too bad. Speedo runs off a wheel sensor, which can be attached to the rear drum back plate and the magnet near one of the studs, hence giving a reading.
A bit of custom fabrication on the rear for a bracket and we should be away! :P :P

i have read about your pickup on here and wondered where i had seen the speedo from, i dont know if you seen that in the van with the k20 honda lump in it, it was in this augusts mini world, that is the sort of centre pod i am after, so extended pod with extra dials etc.

how long you had the pickup for ? and how safe you reckon the drilled seat rails will be ?

Can you get the OMP corsica Deep dish steering wheel in any smaller sizes?
Would also want a snap off boss, anyone ever heard of one of those on the OMP Corsica?
Do you have any pictures of your pick up?

Mini-man-dan, what is the make and model for that digi-dash?

I've got an OMP corisa dished steering wheel, in lovely suede, haven't fitted it yet though - it's waiting for the rest of the interior bits to be done as i'm going to do it all in one go :D
