Hi
I am trying to get hold of a bulb for the clock in my mini.
It is a 12v (obviously) 2 watt bulb with a elongated bayonet type fitting rather than screw type.
It goes in a little holder that pushes into the back of the clock.
Any ideas where i can get as i have asked all the places in the local town and looked on the minispares website.

Your car's instruments will be different than mine AND I'm over here so my sources won't help. However, that looks like a VDO style instrument bulb. I'd find a local shop that sells VDO instruments and take the bulb with you to match it.
I found this image of a VDO bulb on the net. See if it doesn't look like your bulbs:
