Standard helical drops will cope with over 200BHP as long as they are shimmed properly and all the bearings are in good order.

Jim runs a K1100 bike head and a big turbo, not sure about his box

A welsh chap, mate endaf woen the miglia driver/builder

on the strip, trackdays, Not sure what it woud be eligable for, but essentially its a miglia with a stonking lump in

heres a vid of it at a track day. make sure you wath it untill the find the boost ccontroll and crank it up...

Dog box is a quaife one,

Drops should not me too much of an issue, there are people sunning std ones on the strip at 200hp reliably, a set of SC drops should survive fine.

That's mainly a road car, with a bit of drag strip fun thrown in for good measure. Pretty sure he doesn't race it.

EDIT: Robert's car not Jim's.

yes that right, it did run it the fastest mini race,

it retired with clutch issues IIRC,

Ironic as it had previously completed about 100 laps of pembry with no real issues.

Jim said it was fastest at 10psi iirc, it was just to wild with more boost.

You Metro looks very well set up, like it'd be happy with 20 or more bhp.

I know what you mean about too much power sowing you down, jims is proof of that, as will says it was quickest at about 10 psi,

based on that, I'm thinking you might be in a better position to up the power, i'm aasuming the power from the charger probably come in a bit smoother that a turbo, possibly causing less issues out of the bends.

Also, have you considered looking at the K series front subframe? as the hubs on those give a much smaller scrub radius.

I do like a good metro, and this is defiantly a good one, top work

the way the power is delivered is truly sweat and thanks to big mike at mbe race engines who built and designed the hole power unit. so far we have had no issues with the engine/box. we had it on the dyno for a full day none stop, two shake down sessions at a unused airfield a day testing at cadwell park and 2 races at cadwell park. as you can see from the video i dont struggle with steering issues.
as for the subframe why change a really good thing, the suspension has been design by ax ex f1 engineer, the information booklet on the suspension is truly mind blowing way behond my comprehension. to start altering stuff would be a backwards step. the car doesnt use metro suspension it uses mini bottom arms top arms mini tie bars.
so far i havnt touched the cars capabilities, its capable of so much more, i may get peter baldwin to drive it one time to show me how quick it can go.
before it was supercharged it was put round cadwell park by my brother in 1.42.00 now that is very fast for a 1300cc car. so in reality a 1 40.00 could be on the cards. as it has 50bhp more and im 8 stone lighter.
i need to get out there and drive it in anger

ill upload another video on youtube of this metro passing/racing a rover metro track car fitted with a 1800cc vvc k series lump on a test day.

Im not sure whats more impressive, the car, or the fact youve managed to shed 8 stone, either way. good effort.
