It's a 1987 City E "Special". This is what is stated on the original documents, and to this day i still have no clue how or why it has this name. A tad over 34,000 miles, finished in Nightwatch Blue 2, which was only produced for the Mini in 1987.
Completely standard engine-wise, 998cc, but the exhaust system was replaced about 8 months ago. It has very little rust, the only significant rusting is happening on the driver side sill. From the outside you'd be hard pressed to find any rust at all.
It's far from original visually. Group 2 arches, 6x12 colour matching superlight wheels, the grille, bumpers, and lenses at the front, side, and rear are all new and unoriginal.
Unfortunately, the seats are in a bad way. When i acquired the car in 2005 the cream coloured, houndstooth design cloth on the leatherette/cloth seats was tearing off.
However, inside it has a Pioneer flip out head unit worth around £200 new, as well as a pair of JBL 6x9's under the rear seats with a speaker board, and another pair in the parcel shelf, boosted by a 200w amplifier in the boot.
It's had it's carburettor adjusted to run on unleaded, and it has done for four years, with no problems.
