is there anyway to tell how learn or rich your fuel is because i am putting my hiff44 carb on the new engine and i am woried that it will be running to learn it use to run a little rich onthe 1275 engine it was on. i cant getit to a rolling for a little while. thanks in advance.

A gunsons colortune is a useful tool and gives you an immediate visual indication as to the composition of fuel / air.

Ideally you need to hit the rollers as soon as possible though.

To set an HIF to an initial starting setting, wind the mixture screw in until the top of the jet is flush with the venturi, and then two turns clockwise... that'll get the car going and will not be too far off the mark assuming the needle is the right one.

The drive down to Halfrauds who will probably have on in stock...
