Does anyone have knowledge of numbers for A-series that were fitted to the Austin/Morris 1100/1300 range?

I have a block from a 1300GT and one from a 1300. Both have been skimmed at some point and the numbers drilled off but I have one of the plates, numbered 12H-159-H62063.

I know which block is the one from the GT and that's the one I'm using. I'd like to confirm the number so I can get it changed with the DVLA when I drop it in to the car. The log book is long since gone as you would imagine...

OK, I confirmed that 12H-159-H62063 is the 1300 engine and not the one from the 1300GT. Astoundingly we managed to track down the log book for the 1300 in my grandmothers house. So 12H159~ denotes a solid block 1275 that was fitted to a blmc 1300 and my engine is still unidentified. But hey, if the 1300 was never officially scrapped then maybe the GT logbook is still kicking around somewhere as well...

I've had a look through all the links and established my engine is a 1275 recon unit, but can't find the exact number RKM1113E. Any ideas?

If you look in the list at the top you'll see that it's down as a unleaded high compression engine... but is not detailed as comming from an MG... however the only difference between this engine and an MG Metro engine will be the cam... everything else is the same including the head, as ALL unleaded 1275 heads are the same.... the larger valves used by the leaded metro were dropped ( pardon the pun ).

Only just found this valuable page, I have a 1275 A+, from a metro, i dont know what year because it's been in my uncles shed for a few years. But it's got an unusual engine number on it. I know it's from a metro because it still had original metro mounts on it.

BHM145.....513.

anybody know what it could be.

could it be an engine that has been rebuilt and given a new block number, or anything else?

Thanks

stupid me just looked at this page agen and seen a similar number, didnt see that before,,,,,,,,,,,spooky.

I've just bought a mini engined automatic trike, and need vto know a bit more about the engine.

Looking on your list the nearest number is 99H 791 which tells me it's an A series 998 with leaded head (v useful to know!) from a mini 74-on. My actual number is 99H 79 ZPH - is there any way I can use this to find out what year the engine was manufactured?
