After rebuilding the mini and connecting the wiring up to the corresponding colours, then trying the lights i found that the headlights dont work at all.
I have the main beam light on continuously on the dash, even when i switch from main beam to dip .There is no main, dip,or side lights.I have cleaned all connectors and earths. All other lights are fine.

Please Help

There is a whole bunch of those wires at the front of the engine bay and they connect up to each other, they can often cause allsorts of lighting issues and they tend to be in a place where they are prone to moisture and dirt, so it is very important that they are clean if you want porper operation of the lights.

If you disconnect one while the lights are on they will dim slightly, so if one or two are loose it could easily cause the lights to go off.

Are the fuses the right ratings?

Have you checked the in-line fuses too?

Are there other electrical faults?

If wierd things are happeneing the wires at the front may be connected the wrong way round?
