Its time for me to replace my brake disks and pads.

I will be going for a set of greenstuff pads, but i was unsure of what disks to go for?

I just wondered if there is any upgrades i can make without having to modify the standard calipers (as i didnt want to do that yet).

Would i be able to fit drilled disks, what would the advantage be?

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Mike

You can get drilled or grooved discs without modifying the original calipers. And IMO, I would get black stuff pads, work better from cold, green stuff is more a track day pad (although people have used them with no problems).

would i need any different drive flanges, etc for the drilled and grooved disks to fit?

Are they worth the increase in price over standard disks?

You don't need to change your flanges. As for being an improvement I can't say as I haven't used them. I would of thought you would only need to spent the extra cash if you've modified your engine a fair bit. You mind me asking what your spec is?

its just a standard 998 at the moment that i will be uprating in the future. Would just a set of new standard disks and some ebc pads be suitable?

Stick with std and some mintex pads, you wont need any more unless you have a seriously long 1 in 4 hill where you live

But you are supposed to use engine braking and not the brakes to maintain ur speed going down a hill!

Exactly, so there's no point in overdoing the heat resistance of the braking system
