hi,
i'm having some porblems fitting my fan. i brought an export one as i running a turbo and figured the extra airflow would help it....
anyway i fit the fan and it hits the breather, so i get a spacer and it does and dont miss it it is that close...
has anyone else got an export fan or had this kinda problem before...?????

Well as you seem to have blocked your breather it's not doing much good anyway.... but the usual answer is to hit the breather with a hammer and dent it so the fan don't hit it... not technical I'm afraid...

You can get timing covers with flattened breathers to solve this problem, mine was about £25....
Alternatively use a knockometer to slightly alter the molecular make up of the breather (i.e bash it with a big hammer) so it no longer fouls on the fan. Just make sure you don't damage the timing cover in the process... :fear:

If the hammer solution isn't to your liking, you can cut off the front surface of the breather parallel with the fan path and weld on a flat cover plate. This isn't rocket science either but does give a more finished appearance.
