Peoples view on a price for these please

4 x 5J 12" (yes not 10"!) Original (not copies from MWS/Huddersfield etc) Dunlop D1's

Matching set of 4 all stamped with the same casting numbers on the back dated 71

They all have legal tyres on them but none match!

Minor kerb rash to all 4 but nothing major and nothing that a few mins with a power file / sander wouldn't sort out

As photos there is one bigger ding in the rim on the REAR of ONE rim (multiple photos of same ding) but this doesnt get anywhere near the tyre or the bead where it seals.

Photos make the paint look better than it is, I personally would consider them for refurb

NO wheel nuts No centre caps

A set of 4 10" in same condition go for £140-160 ish on ebad and these are a lot more difficult to come by

Cheers

Ian

12", thats an unsual size, makes em a little difficult to value. I'd have said £150-£175ish for em?

Maybe a little less as the refurbs gonna cost £50ish per wheel?

A set of 5 recently refurbished D1's were on ebay last month, each shod with new Yoko A539's, in good condition complete with centre caps and nuts .
They didnt sell at the starting price of £260, I wish I had the money >_<

these are very beautiful just wish I had the cash as I would have had them!
>_<

Are they quite tough as some old wheels tend to break after time.

Thanks so much for the replies.

Shifty - the £50 refurb - what would you suggest needs doing to them please? I've had a sneaky peek at them and thought all they would need doing would be the paintwork and the prep for it which I thought could be DIY however my skills and time are limited so I'd sooner get a really good idea of what's involved.

And thanks Midas >_< A starting price of £260 seems quite high but then if they're rare I honestly don't know myself where you'd start.

Only just seen these posts sorry.

I listed them on ebay yesterday

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item2305fdb08d

£50 a wheel if taken to a specilist refurb place but nothing that cant be done at home with time and effort. A file and wet and dry would sort the minor kerb rash out, then paint strip and repaint/polish

Midas - I think the d1's you saw would have been 10" (maybe even the replicas?) as the 12" ones dont come up regular. by the way i also have a set of 5 x 5J10" with have been refurbed which will also be for sale soon when I get round to taking a picture

Not quite sure what you mean by tough but these are all stamped 1971 so are 39 years old and were in use until recently hence the tyres being okay all hold air etc

Thanks for interest Bec thought you were eyeing them up the other day!
