After finally getting my mini working, I was running the engine with the bonnet open and I noticed somthing. There is a little red thing that looks almost like a spark plug to the left of the engine, i have no idea what it does, but I could see that oil was bubbling up around the brass collar piece of it.
so, my questions are.. what is it? How much is a new one?, and how quickly should I change it?, hehe.
Ill have another look tommorow as I cant remmember exactly where it was,
thanks a lot,

Try tightening it up a bit, not too much tho incase you damage the threads, you just want to nip it up.

For £5 change it its not worth the risk of, snapping the sender off in the block or it bursting at high speed and losing all the engine oil.

I had the pipe come off my oil preasure gauge sender once, oil went everywere, all over the front of my car, windscreen, roof and road. what a mess and all because of that tiny little pipe.
