i'd just like to gauge interest in a charity run i have planned for july 2010.

it will be 2 weeks long, leaving dover on Friday 2nd of july and returning on Friday the 16th.

I will shortly display a list of each stopping point, although we will be taking it easy to really make the most of it.

overall it's around 5k miles. wont just be mini's taking part, it will be for all classic and retro cars.

post here if interested and i'll try to get some pricing up for accomodation and such...although would people be happy camping in certain places?

also need an idea of what charity to use

EDIT: intended route:

Day 1: Dover-Callais-Amsterdam --- staying in Bostel Amsterdamse Bos, stay in lodges.
Day 2: Amsterdam-Nurburg --- camping with facilities
Day 3: Nurburgring start-finnish several times :P --- camping with facilities
Day 4: Nurburg-Brno (Czech Republic) --- camping with facilities
Day 5: Bruno-Zurich(Switzerland) Via stelvio pass :) ---camping with facilities (but who would rather just pitch a tent at the top of the stelvio? :P)
Day 6: Zurich-Rome --- camping with facilities
Day 7: Rome-Palermo(Sicily) --- camping with facilities
Day 8: Palermo-MonteCarlo :D --- camping with facilities
Day 9: MonteCarlo-Turin --- camping with facilities
Day 10: Turin-Barcelona --- staying at Garden house Barcelona
Day 11: Barcelona-Gibraltar --- camping with facilities
Day 12: Gibraltar-Porto --- camping with facilities
Day 13: Porto-Nantes --- camping with facilities
Day 14: Nantes-Callais-Dover

The total cost of the camping pitches, accomodation and ferrys both ways is £235 :o we ask that you send payment for the ferry, accomodation in amsterdam and accomodation in barcelona ASAP so we can get all booked up. all the campsites we can just turn up at, and if we dont like the look of them find another one :D

ok, add name to list if interested and i'll PM sponsor forms. the charity will be UNICEF and i've already spoken to them.

each car must submit a minimum of £250 sponsorship, but we aim for much more!!

Those planning to come to the ''Stelvio Retro Rally'' please copy this list and add name & car.

1. Floydrob - 1275GT
2. Danrock101 - City e?
3. Jordie08 - Clubman fronted 1000 HLE

P.S. After the £250 has been reached, you may seek sponsorship to fund the run...however you MUST specify this on the sponsor sheet and make clear to those sponsoring you.

cheers! thats the price ONLY of camping, ferry and accomodation. still have to pay for fuel (although it is much cheaper in most places than here), food and however many laps of the nurburgring you want.

on the first night just outside amsterdam, we will be staying in large wooden lodges that sleep 18, it's £20 extra per head if you want your own appartment, but i recon a big lodge for us all will be more fun.

i started a facebook group for all those planning to come

This does sound good - Not sure what I'll be doing then or if the Mini will be on the road (I know its that bad!) but will keep you in touch.

Whens the latest you need confirmation/payment by?

lets say monday 30th june?

i'll send those interested sponsor sheets as soon as i get confirmation from Unicef. if you end up unable to do it, then the donations still go where they should, so dont worry.

i'll try to get some run sponsors (magazines, minisport/spares etc etc) and get run packs together...need ideas of what to include. T-shirt, door vinyls, and some wee goodies from sponsors hopefully.

and my mini isnt on the road yet either...but i'm going even if i have to buy another!

I'm very interested, I was planning on doing a Eurotrip then in my mini raising monry for charity, fingers crossed my mini will be ready by then still awaiting news back from the garage so it can go in for some welding....so at the moment along way from being ready to be fair. I have to say that the route sounds fantastic, if we can get our hands on CB radio's that would be epic.

The one I had planned was all the major cities round europe, not right in the centre as it maybe really busy....majorly excited...just hope the mini ready....race against time starts now!
